Tallinn, Estonia
Skype was founded in 2003 by Janus Friis from Denmark and Niklas Zennström from Sweden. Skype software was developed by Estonians Ahti Heinla, Priit Kasesalu and Jaan Tallinn, who were also behind the peer-to-peer file sharing software Kazaa. Skype has 663 million registered users as of September 2011. The network is operated by Microsoft, which has its Skype division headquarters in Luxembourg. Most of the development team and 44% of the overall employees of the division are situated in the offices of Tallinn and Tartu, Estonia. Calls to other users within the Skype service are free, while calls to both traditional landline telephones and mobile phones can be made for a fee using a debit-based user account system. Skype has also become popular for its additional features which include instant messaging, file transfer, and videoconferencing.
The ICT Demo Center in Tallinn, Ülemiste City is the place to see Estonian ICT in action. Its purpose is to showcase the nation's ICT solutions all in one facility, providing visitors with hands-on examples of what they are and how they work. Though it presents individual products, its main focus is offering integrated, holistic solutions. Term commonly used to describe Estonia's emergence as one of the most advanced e-societies in the world is “e-Estonia” – an incredible success story that grew out of a partnership between a forward-thinking government, a pro-active ICT sector and a switched-on, tech-savvy population. Thanks to this success, Estonians and the Estonian state enjoy a wide range of e-solutions that those living elsewhere can only dream about, and their nation has become the example for others who wish to follow the same path.

Cēsu Alus is a brewery and alcohol beverage producer in Cēsis, Latvia. As the roots of the brewery dates back in 1590, Cēsu Alus is considered to be the oldest brewery in Baltic and Nordic countries. In 1590 brewing of beer is referred for the first time in the Cēsis Castle audit. The first brewery was located in the castle itself. In the first half of 17th century the brewery was relocated to the third forecastle. In 1878 the historic brewery buildings were built and the brewery was established in the ownership of count Emanuel Sievers. In 1922 several entrepreneurs from Cēsis repurchased the brewery from Sievers and established the joint stock company Augļu dārzs (English: Fruit Garden). In 1940 SC Augļu dārzs was nationalised. In 1976 Industrial beer producer Cēsu Alus was established which also incorporated breweries in Naukšēni and Gulbene. In 1995 Cēsu Alus was privatised and once again became a joint stock company. In 1999 Cēsu Alus was bought by the Finnish beer and non-alcoholic drinks producer Olvi. On July 2001 the new brewery plant was opened in Cēsis with a filling capacity of 20 million litres of beer. In 2003 Cēsu Alus became the second largest beer producer in Latvia.

Vilnius, Lithuania
Vilnius International Airport (VIA) is an independent company since 30 September 1991 and The airport is located on a plateau in the south of Vilnius. It is only 7 km or 15 minutes drive by car from the centre of the capital. 15 airlines operate scheduled flights from Vilnius Airport, 14 of which carry passengers and 1 operates cargo flights. A few more local and foreign airlines operate charter flights. As air traffic in Lithuania is rather seasonal, summer and winter schedules are compiled. According to the winter schedule, the airport operates around 570 regular flights a week, and according to the summer schedule – around 685 regular flights a week, the rest of the flights are charter flights. In 2010, Vilnius International Airport served 1,373 million passengers. The aim of the company is to ensure public services while operating Vilnius International Airport and to carry out other activities in order to meet public interests.
